Synopsis

Documentaire sur le charia au Canada. Décembre 2004 : le rapport Boyd recommande d'autoriser, en Ontario, les tribunaux islamiques, lesquels appliquent la charia, un code de justice inspiré du Coran. Septembre 2005 : le premier ministre ontarien, Dalton McGuinty, interdit tout arbitrage religieux, musulman, juif ou chrétien. Un débat passionnel aura secoué le pays pendant ces dix mois, et mis en lumière les contradictions du multiculturalisme. Le film examine ces enjeux et fait témoigner les femmes musulmanes.
