Synopsis

Documentaire qui nous livre les étapes de la construction d'un canot à la manière atikamekw. Un art de plus en plus oublié, même chez les Amérindiens qui l'inventèrent pourtant. César Newashish, Atikamekw de 67 ans habitant la réserve de Manouane aux confins de la Haute-Mauricie, construit un canot d'écorce à la manière d'antan, n'utilisant que l'écorce du bouleau, les planches du cèdres, les racines de sapin et la sève gommante. Film sans paroles.
